Another birthday - today 'These days' becomes 26 years old!
Some say this is the best Bon Jovi record ever and moreover the shows in Wembley stadium from the same year are the best shows the band played in their career. This is up to oneself, but in every sense, it is a great album! It was successful, it is a fan favorite and it contains beautiful music! Maybe not a record to get to know the band if you don't know them, but essential in every Bon Jovi collection!

What does a musician do when there's a lot of time but nothing to do with the band? They write a solo record!
Jon wrote 'Destination anywhere' and released it in 1997 when the band came home from their 'These days' tour and before they wrote 'Crush'. He even made a little movie to promote the album and played some little shows.
Today this beautiful record turns 24 years old, happy birthday!

The start into the 90s has successfully been arranged, but what about the start into the 2000s? Check!
With an album like 'Crush' you van manage every time change! It would even be enough to have a single like 'It's my life' and you wouldn't have to worry about your chart positions!
With this great record the band showed that they are still relevant, even after nearly two decades and that also young human beings listen to their music :) Today the album turns 21 years old - unbelievable...happy birthday! ;)

Spring and summer are here again and perfectly fitting we have to celebrate the birthday of 'Lost highway'. The album recorded in Nashville in 2007.
This album left some people in confusion because they didn't see it coming - Bon Jovi and country??
But the rest just said: why not? Sounds good and after all it is still rock!
Everyone hast to decide on their own, but the success of the record speaks for itself :) Biggest tour worldwide for this album....

Today we are back to celebrate an albums anniversary! In 2001 Bon Jovi released their first official live album called 'One wild night'!
It contains an extremely great collection of songs because there aren't just the greatest hits, but also some really rare songs (especially from todays point of view!). It really gives a good overview of how amazing Bon Jovis live shows are. You can feel the energy in every second and it just takes you directly into the show :)

Jon and Dorothea met in high school and are still together at the age of 59. On this day in 1989 the flew out to Las Vegas and got married. We wish all the best for the next 32 years! ;)

Today we celebrate the anniversary for three years of Bon Jovi finally being part of the rock and roll hall of fame! It's been a great evening for the band and the fans not only because of the induction, but also because of all the old and new band members coming together :) This is the right honor for a band like this!

In a bands history the evolution is essential. For Bon Jovi the evolution never ended and they always looked forward without losing their own style. An important step on the way was their second album '7800° Fahrenheit'. They tried a new style and found that it wasn't quite the right direction for them. Anyway, they created beautiful music and an album that is still loved by the fans. Today the album turns 36 years old :) Happy birthday!

It is the 38 birthday already, we come near the 40 now! I guess we all still remember waiting for a new BJ album after the greatest hits collection from 2010. The first single was beautiful as we are used to from our favorite band and so we were alle really excited for the new stuff. Today the album 'What about now' turns already 8 years old! Unbelievable....
Fortunately, this wasn't the last record released by Bon Jovi, but somehow it is a special point in their career :)

Believe it or not: 'Bon Jovi' the first album turns already 37 today!!!!
Even if it's not their big breakthrough album, it is extremly important in the band's history! In this period they learned to play together and became the band of brothers they stayed until today. The life of an opening band is not always easy because they don't always get the respect they deserve. Especially when the major act plays a different kind of music. So, Bon Jovi had to fight to get the crowd listening to them. They did everything to show a better performance than the major band and managed somehow to get their first fans as fundament of the famous strong and faithful fan basis they got until today :) Happy birthday to this milestone!!! :)

Another great DVD-happening takes place today!! Bon Jovi release their brand new concert film 'On a night like this' which shows them playing their last album '2020'. They play in a big room under the circumstances of covid-19, but it is just a beautiful event! The band loves to be back with the new material and because they aren't able to really play it live, the decided to to it this way.

Today we celebrate the birthday of a DVD - 'Inside Out' turns 8 years old! It is a film made out of three different shows Bon Jovi played and it shows the band in really good shape :)
They play their classics, but also special material like 'dry county'. From a point of view today, it is one of the last documents which shows the band with Richie before he left the band...

How much fans does the greatest band in the world have? How many records did they sell? Those numbers don't mean that much to JBJ, but in 2004, when they released their first real box set, they celebrated a milestone in sales, anyway. 100,000,000 BJ fans can't be wrong is the name of it and sounds like the life motivation of us - the fan base! This box set is a real treasure because it contains four CDs full of special material and a DVD with explanations by Jon directly spoken to us :) What a great way to celebrate the best band on this planet!! We love von Bon Jovi!

And again another anniversary: today 'The Circle' turns 11 years old!! ;) The tour for this record was extremely big and special because the band played some older songs which they hadn't played in years. It was a successful album - nothing new for Bon Jovi - and ended another decade. It contains radio hits, fan favorites and great stories :) Happy birthday to this album!

It is an album full of metaphors and full of strength. 'THINFS' turns already four years old! When it came out, it immediately became a number one album in many countries and already is a fan favorite ;) It is the first real album without Richie, but anyway, it is great. The band toured the world once again and proved that they are still the best band in this whole world. What a great work :)

The start of Bon Jovi's second chapter was on this day in 1992. The band released their first 90s album with the title 'Keep the faith' which marked a second beginning. After their last tour, people believed that they were finished, but they were completely wrong! Bon Jovi came back even stronger with their new material and even if it wasn't as successful as earlier records in the US, it was even more successful in Europe ;) This album is just another great page in the history of the best band in the world!!

Some bands first release a live album, others chose the greatest hits album. Bon Jovi did the latter in 1994 when they presented 'Crossroads' which contained two new songs.
Over this planet there are many versions which differ in track listing and song choice. Some contain cover versions, some previously unreleased songs that came with the box set from 2004 and some contain 'prayer '94'.
It was the last album which Alec John Such who then left the band.

Today one of Bon Jovis most underrated albums turns 18: 'Bounce'! The album with a heavier sound and three songs that have been influenced by 9/11. Overall, it's a typical BJ record full of optimism and energy which should be played a lot more in their live shows!

Recently Jon jokingly said in an interview that Tico doesn't know any of the songs titles, but only the drum beats. Anyway, he is the heartbeat of the band and a really talented man in general. He is painter, drummer, plays golf and loves cars. He has been in Bon Jovi for so many years now and we hope he will stay forever!
Today he celebrates his 67th birthday and we wish all the best!!

Finally the day is here: today the new album of the best band in the world is released!!! '2020' is an album about things that happened in the last months which are Covid19, mass shootings, preparation for presidential election, war, society coming together, people helping each other. Jon wanted to be sure to document the present time for the rest of the world and said that there has never been another moment in time where the whole world lived something together like in this year. What a great record ;)

Today 'Have a nice day' turns 15 years old!! Actually, the album should have been released in early 2005, but was delayed until September. The band had to work over the material again and changed for example the song 'Last man standing' which was a lot darker in the original version. The album was number one in 15 countries and has always been a fan favorite because of its energy. The smiling face on its cover is therefor an often seen tattoo within the fanbase :) Happy birthday to this great record!

When MTV came up in the 80s, it was a perfect way to promote the new upcoming bands. Bon Jovi really knew how to use this medium, at least since 'Slippery when wet', and produced beautiful little videos. When it came down to make new ones for their fourth album 'New Jersey', they had even better ideas than just performing onstage. For 'Bad medicine' they invited their fans to come to a show and film their favorite band from whatever perspective they wanted. For 'Born to be my baby' the band tried to show how the songwriting process in the studio is going on with filming it exactly. After all, the videos were a way to get the fans more into the band and show them the inner Bon Jovi. Today the album turns 32 years old ;) Happy birthday!!

We all know this situation when our favorite band takes a little break. The last record came out years ago and a new one isn't coming soon. What to do? Good bands use this chance and release reissues, box sets or just a collection of unreleased songs. Bon Jovi did that in 2015 on this day and gave us 'Burning bridges'. A way to survive the time between 'What about now' and 'THINFS' and even toured a little bit in support of the album. It is the last record of the band to contain songs written by Richie who left the band in 2013 and is marks the end of a 30 year collaboration between the band and its record company. Fortunately, they signed a new contract a little while later, but you can hear Jon's feelings about this event in the title track which is dedicated to the label. In fact, it is just another little album to fulfill the contract. Anyway, it contains so much beautiful typical BJ material and made the fans really happy ;)

Already 30 years?? Today 'Blaze of Glory' turns 30 years old!!! The album that made all the journalists think that the band was finished. This album is officially named JBJs first solo album, but he doesn't really like this term because he says that writing songs for a movie is writing after a script which means that the songs are not about yourself and what moves you, but only about the movie plot. Anyway, it is a very successful album which won a golden globe and nominated JBJ even for an Oscar. Happy birthday!

Happy birthday Richie!!! Today it is your 61st birthday and we wish you all the best!
Richie was the last musician to join the band in the beginning and after 30 years he quit in 2013. We still miss him because he was such an important part of Bon Jovi. He co-wrote so many of their biggest hits and always contributed his great voice. Every fan loved his way of guitar playing and sometimes when Jon let him sing 'I'll be there for you' we were all breathless ;)

Today 'These days' turns 25 years old! This has always been a fan favorite which contains so many great songs. The tour for this album is legendary because of the shows in London in 95. Every fan knows the videos from there and some also say that is was the best concert the band ever played. But back to the album: these days contains 14 songs and is different from the records before. It is mostly serious in its way of storytelling and has darker music around the lyrics. Jon seems a bit disillusioned at times, but after all always comes back to his typical optimism. You could say that it is a bit harder to find than in other songs, but it is an extremely strong and honest album which takes you with it from the first note. The most songs are not played lived that often anymore, but especially the title track brings excitement when Bon Jovi sing it :)

In contrast to other band records of the past, 'destination anywhere' is a really serious album. It has a different musical style and talks about different topics. Jon tried to find out who he was at this point of his life and wrote about real life stories like the death of the daughter of a friend. Sometimes the lyrics get a bit sad and disillusioned, but after all it is the typical JBJ lyric with beautiful music :) Today the album turns 23 years old. Happy birthday!

'Well, I look in the mirror; I don't hate what I see; there's a few more lines staring back at me' - a good line to resume the point that Bon Jovi were at when they released the album belonging to this line. They came into the new century and started it with a big hit single and an extremely successful record. Today the album 'Crush' celebrates its 20th birthday. Manly through the single of 'It's my life' the album helped generate new fans within the younger people because it sounded that fresh and to the point. But it also showed all the experience and years that the band embraced, so that it was a perfect mix between new and old. Especially the cited song - 'Just older' - got good reviews and is still a fan favorite! What a good record and what a good start in the 2000s :) Happy birthday 'Crush'!

Do you know which Bon Jovi album was the first to debut at number one in Great Britain? It is the beautiful 'Lost highway' which turns 13 years old today :) It is described as country rock and Jon always says that the basis for it was 'Who says you can't go home' from 'Have a nice day'. Some of us might be extremely sad at the moment because the tours of our favorite bands have been cancelled or postponed following the pandemic. What can be the solution?
Just take 'One wild night', Bon Jovi's live album released in 2001. It contains a lot of great performances that were recorded between 1985 and 2001.
It might be different from a real show, but it's better than sitting at home and being sad :) And it's a good chance to celebrate the 19th birthday of the album!

Some consider them the most beautiful couple of all. At least, we should pay our respect for them because the've been together over their whole life :) Today JBJ and his wife Dorothea celebrate their 31st wedding anniversary! They married each other one night in Las Vegas when JBJ had a day off from their 'New Jersey' - tour. When they came back nobody knew it and nobody was there with them. So, when they told it, most of the people were a bit confused because they didn't know anything. Today everyone's happy with it and we hope that the two stay together forever ;)

Two years ago, a new holiday was established in New Jersey - the official Bon Jovi day. And why not earlier? This day in 2018 was an extremely special day in the band's history because they finally got inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame!!
It was not just the induction, but the fact that it was the first time in years that Richie performed with his old band.

Even if the band doesn't play songs from this album that often, it is extremely popular by the fans. It is a really underrated album and turns 35 years old today. Right - '7800° Fahrenheit'! Bon Jovis second album released in 1985. It is a beautiful hair metal album and the bands attempt to find out who they are. As their first album did ok, but not as good as people might have thought, they tried to get closer to the L.A. sound. But in the end, they came back to Jersey and wrote 'Slippery when wet'.....the rest is history....

We thank this band for their existence and their work because without them the world, our lives and we as people wouldn't be the same. Bon Jovi is the centre of everything. They are our everything and we can't wait for the new album and tour!!!

'Stand up and be proud, what about now?' - A line that helped us through our lives in 2013. Today the wonderful album 'What about now' by Bon Jovi turns 7 years old. The sad thing about the album is that it is the last official one with Richie before he left the band. But as a last album it is more than appropriate :)
The world tour was - once again - the biggest world tour of all, but that is nothing new for this beautiful band!!

For today Bon Jovi announced their new single 'Limitless'. A really upbeat and strong song about advices for a fulfilling life. A typical Bon Jovi song which will soon become an extremely meaningful and important song for the fans.
The even better thing is that they also showed the cover artwork for the new album for the first time and that they told us the release date for it!! We still have to wait until may the 15th, but it will be worth it! The track listing already says that the album contains 10 songs and the vinyl is sold in gold color ;) The only color fitting for this great music!

Isn't it amazing how many anniversaries we have to celebrate on this page?? Today the very first chapter of Bon Jovi - the band - turns 36 years old! The album that started it all. Sure, Jon already had 'Runaway' and so on, but this was the first step together with his great band :) And the album contains so much more beautiful songs than just 'Runaway' and also the only song in their whole catalogue which hasn't been (co-) written by Jon or any one of the band members. So music on, volume up, hands in the air and happy birthday to this historical album! ;)

Today our favorite band announced tour dates for their new album 'Bon Jovi: 2020'!! They'll start in June in Tacoma and play 18 shows until July the 28th in New York. Another great thing is that they will be supported by Bryan Adams at most of the shows :)

What is even better than a live album? Right - a live DVD! If you need one, take 'Inside out' by Bon Jovi! It's a great collection of three different concerts which are put together in one show. Everybody knows that Bon Jovi have never been the critics' favorites. From the beginning on they were criticized for everything they did, no matter what it was. Either they were too soft for hard rock, too hair metal for hard rock and finally too mainstream for rock in general. And after all, they were only successful because of Jons' looks....but as we all know: they were and still are simply the best band on this planet. And one of the best proves for this are the 100,000,000 Bon Jovi fans who can't be wrong. Today this collection of beautiful art turns 15 years old.

'You better live now, 'cause no one's gonna get out alive' - and this life is only a happy one if you have Bon Jovi. So why not put on 'The Circle' and listen to it the whole day?? This beautiful album turns 10 years old today and it would be a good way to celebrate it! ;) The band said that it's an album which goes back to their roots, which goes more to rock music again, after their country rock from 'Lost highway'. In the charts it was as successful as we're used to from the greatest band in the world!

It's difficult to find out which might be the right one for this moment when all of them are just so perfect. But there's one solution that always works: just take your 'Greatest Hits' -record! There you have all the successful songs of your band and listening to it is like flying in a time machine.

You are something special, you are strong and you have to trust yourself the most :) Thankfully, Bon Jovi help us keeping this in mind and staying true to who we are. This is the same thing he did all his life and this is what the album 'This house is not for sale' tells us in many different stories!! It's an album about the band's history, work and achievement; it's about the ups and downs; it's about their music, their brotherhood and friendship, but it's a statement especially! To all who doubted the band, now you can see that they're still here and they're stronger than ever ;)

This might be the slogan of Jon's life, but sure also the slogan of many rock fans :) The line comes from the song 'Blame it on the love of Rock'n'Roll' from Bon Jovis 5th album 'Keep the Faith'. Today, this great piece of art turns 27 and we want to celebrate this by thinking of all the beautiful songs on it. We have powerful rock songs like the title track, 'I believe', or 'If I was your mother', we have typical ballads like 'Bed of roses', In these arms' or 'I want you' and we have some special track with 'Save a prayer'. The best thing to celebrate this birthday is to put this album on and turn the volume up!!! Happy birthday 'Keep the Faith'!! ;)

The songs tells a story about veterans and their ongoing health problems. According to this, it's not really the music that is in the centre of attention, but more the lyrics, the story, that we should listen to.

One of Bon Jovis most successful singles - 'Always'. Where to find? Right - on the first Greatest Hits album by the band: 'Crossroad'. Today this beautiful album turns 25 years old!! Of course it's a collection of their most loved songs like 'Prayer', 'Bad name' or 'Keep the Faith', but it also contains two then new singles called 'Always' and 'Someday I'll be Saturday night'. First, Richie wanted to call the album 'Elvis is dead, but we're not'. As you see, he couldn't convince the others and it came different. Anyway, happy birthday 'Crossroad'!! ;)

'This world don't give you nothing it can't take away' - this is the very first line in 'Love me back to life' from 'Bounce' which turns 17 today. It may be true (not only because it was written by BJ), but when we think of the beautiful music they gave us over the years, it is simply not right! Those great songs will stay with us forever and especially 'Bounce' was extremely important to some of us when it was released in 2002. Jon and Richie wanted to start the work on their new album on September the ninth when the terrible thing happened. They were watching everything on TV and deleted their writing session. In the end, three songs have directly been influenced by the events.
Still, it is a beautiful rock album which is heavier than the records before, but of course a typical Bon Jovi album. Happy birthday 'Bounce'!!

Again we have to celebrate another birthday: Tico turns 66 years old!! He was the third musician that joined Jons new band, even when he already was a member of a very successful band that also had a record contract. He already had a lot of experience because he's been playing for many years when he decided to try something completely new. Since then he is an extremely important part of Bon Jovi and one of Jons best friends (of course also really loved by the fans. ;) ) We wish you a happy birthday!!

Some say that it is one of their best ones, others think it is too commercial, but anyhow it contains one of their best known songs. On this record you'll also find the first number one single on the country charts for a rock 'n' roll band with 'Who says you can't go home'.

Bon Jovi's fourth album celebrates it's 31st birthday today!! When the band came back from their endless 'Slippery when wet' - tour, they actually needed a break. The best thing would have been to take one year off, but instead, Jon started to write new songs. He had the plan to release a double album in 1988 which didn't work because of the record label. Anyway, the band had up to 40 songs and chose the best ones for the new album. In the end, it was released under the name 'New Jersey' which describes the special attitude in their home state :) It soon became the first rock album with five top ten singles!!

This is the greatest thing for us as Bon Jovi fans: Jon announced the title of their new album!!!!! It will be named 'Bon Jovi: 2020' and hopefully arrive the next year. He also said that after 'THINFS' which told us about the band and its inner thoughts in the last years, the new album will be about the opposite. That means it talks about social content and recent happenings in the world. The cover or the exact date of release are not known yet, but hopefully soon!! So, let's see what will come to us the next months :)

After the 'What about now' - tour the fans had to wait for new Bon Jovi music. They got what they wanted in 2015 when the band released an album with songs they wrote for different records. This had to be an album just for the fans as Jon said, but more importantly it was the end of an era. The contract with their label came to its end and they had to negotiate completely new. To fulfill the old contract they still had to release one album: 'Burning bridges'. Today it's already been four years since this event!! So, happy birthday! ;)

In today's music industry artists have to get it right the first time. Their debut album hast to be the best thing they ever did because they can never now how long people will pay attention to them. Sometimes they have one number one single and you never hear of them again.
When Bon Jovi startet their career this was completely different!! They released two albums that were ok, but commercially not the big breakthrough.
This came one year later in 1986 when the band released 'Slippery when wet'. Nummer one in countless countries, still their most famous album with their most well known songs. Today this album becomes 33 years old!! We wish happy birthday!

There was a time when people thought that Bon Jovi would be history very soon. They all said that it was over, that the boys were only fighting, that Jon fired the others, that Richie didn't feel well anymore as Jon's right hand and so on. This was after the 'New Jersey' - tour when the band was three years on the road for their fourth album. What happened was that they were completely burnt out after all these years of recording - touring - recording - touring....
The great thing is that all the band members startet several solo projects in this period and one of those projects turns 29 today: the album 'Blaze of Glory' written and released by Jon! He won a golden globe for it and was even nominated for an Oscar. Moreover, he got a very little cameo in the movie where he got shot within a few seconds. Happy birthday to this great album!! ;)

Today Richie turns 60 years old!!
When he first saw Jon onstage in the early 80s, he came to him and told him that he was the missing link ;) He wanted to be in this new band because he knew they needed him. Over the years he was always part of every step the band took until 2013. Many of us are still sad because it's not easy to understand this, but on the other side he really earned the right to be outside the band...he always worked as hard as he could for it, so that he can now relax ;) We wish you all the best Richie!!!

It's already 36 years that Jon signed his first record contract!!
Can you believe that in the beginning no single record company wanted him? He really tried a lot and went to every big company on the West and East coast, but had no success. Later he gave it one last chance and went to a DJ in New York who started to play his song 'Runaway'. A little later all the companies called Jon and asked for his signature ;)

Still the darkest record of Bon Jovi - 'These Days'. This doesn't mean that the band gave up their optimism or their writing style, but more that the optimism is harder to find in the songs. They wrote about much more serious topics than on their 80s records which may be one reason for the diffrent sound. Anyway, it contains beautiful ballads and helps the listener to start thinking about important topics. Some people even say that 'These Days' is the best Bon Jovi record ever written, but this belongs to everyones' own interpretation :) Happy birthday to this great album!!

Today we celebrate the birthday of an album that may be considered the most experimental one that Jon ever wrote - 'Destination Anywhere'. This is his second solo record for which he even produced a little movie. The songs are mostly sad or reflective which is maybe the main difference to the usual band records. Anyway, it's a really beautiful record and worth of listening to it :)

Happy birthday to Bon Jovi's album 'Crush'!!! Today in 2000 they released their 7th record and managed to enlarge their fanbase. The really successful thing about 'Crush' was the single 'It's my life', not just a fan favorite, but also a song that is know by nearly everybody. It has a really strong message underlined by extremely strong music. Jon first thought that the lyrics were too personal, but when he got the first reactions, he knew that it was talking about something that many people can relate to. This is how 'It's my life' became one of their most beloved songs and a perfect start in the new century!!

The most perfect album for summer!! You just got to listen to the first three seconds and you'll feel like it's summer, no matter if you listen to it in January or June!! 'Lost Highway' is the best way to feel the warmth and smell the flowers :)
It's a record with country rock music recorded in Nashville, even with a song written with Big & Rich. This album also contains the first duet from Bon Jovi with a female singer!! Today it turns 12 years old!! Happy Birthday ;)

Today in 2001 Bon Jovi released their first live album called 'One wild night'. It contains some of the best live moments recorded over the years between 1985 and 2001 like songs from their famous shows in London 1995 or a version of 'In and out of love' from 1985. There are also real rarities like a version of 'Something to believe in' and a cover of 'Rockin' in the free world'. The time until the next show takes place can perfectly be passed with this great collection! Happy birthday! ;)

Nearly everyone hopes to find the right person to spend their life with one day. Jon was really lucky to find this person early in his life. Dorothea and him met in history class at high school and married in 1989 in Las Vegas. Since then they were always happy and stayed together until today. They married when Jon had one day off while being on the road in support for 'New Jersey' and nobody knew about it. They have four children together and Jon always says that every song that he's ever written is for Dorothea :) Happy 30th anniversary!

Already one whole year??? Today one year ago the best band in the world got finally inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!! We already knew it before that Bon Jovi should be in there, but know the whole world knows that they are not just one of those hair metal acts from the 80s, but a real major band with a big impact on the history of rock music!!! Today Bon Jovi's second album '7800° Fahrenheit' turns 34!! When they released this album they were still a support act, but not in Japan. This was the only place where they could already tour as major band. The rest of the world accepted them as the same after the next record....Anyway, this second album is one of the most underrated ones, not only because Bon Jovi themselves always said that they don't like it. The critics didn't like it either, even if it sold better than the first one. The songs are played extremely rare up to not at all at live shows and some of them are really big fan favorites :) Happy birthday to this album!!

Today Bon Jovi the band has its 36th anniversary!!! 36 years of good quality, of friendship, of brotherhood. 36 years of creating something special, of touring the world, of being the best band in this world. 36 years on top of the charts, of believing and of giving hope to people. This band is simply the greatest rock band on this planet and it won't stop to make people happy. As they just postet some videos directly from the studio we can be curios for what they will present us this time ;) Please never stop being there for us!!

Bon Jovi is back in the studio!!!!! Today they posted a video and wrote that they are working on new music! There is no better news to start the day than this :)
The last album was 'THINFS' in 2016 with two new songs in 2018. Currently the band has tour dates for the summer in Europe, so let's see if they'll release a new record this year, too. We can't wait for new music ;)

Can you believe it? Today the album 'What about now' already turns six! It was the last album with Richie on the guitar and on tour, the last album of an era. It was also a very successful album for the band (as was every album the band ever produced...) and the following world tour was once again the biggest one done in this year.
A really interesting thing about the album is the cover artwork: the band stood in front of a big canvas with the picture on it and got painted completely so that they fitted perfectly into the cover. If you look on it very concentrated you can find the band members. Happy birthday 'What about now'!

Today a man turns 57 years old. A man who is not just the frontman of the greatest band in the world or the best singer who ever existed. He is a symbol for optimism, good looks, believe and faith. The first band member of Bon Jovi was - after Jon of course - David Bryan. They already knew each other from school and earlier bands and so Jon called him after he got his record deal. From then on David was always there, no matter where the band was.
Later he startet writing music for musicals and won a lot of important awards for it. Currently, he's working on the next one and we're really curious to see the output!
Today is his 57th birthday. We wish you all the best David!

After Jon had already reached a bit of airplay with his song 'Runaway' in 1982, the major labels suddenly all wanted him to sign his contract with them. After this he startet to form his new band which didn't have a name, yet. The first one to come in was his school friend David Bryan. After him Alec and Tico joined the band, but they still needed a good guitarist. One evening Richie saw them play a club show and immediately wanted to be the one missing person. He came to rehearsal and got in. Then they started writing songs and finally, on this day in 1984 the debut album was released. Today we celebrate its 35th birthday!!

It shows three different concerts in one film, so that you have different stadiums, but always the greatest view on the stage.

100,000,000 Bon Jovi fans can't be wrong - sounds like a really cool sign of fans in the first row at a show! Actually, it's the name of a box set the band released on this day in 2004. It contains four CDs full of previously unheard material like demo versions of songs like 'Always' or 'Last man standing', songs they've written for movies like 'Real life' or 'The one that got away' or simply songs they've written for their albums but never used on them like 'Miss fourth of july' or 'Starting all over again'. Moreover, this set contains some really interesting songs that help fans to get a better insight in the writing process, the recording process and the solo work the band members do.
Another big part of the set is a DVD where the band explains a lot to those songs, lyrics and circumstances - why didn't particular songs make a record? Why is 'New Jersey' no double album? Why did they rework some of the songs?
For real fans this box set symbolises something like a pearl in their collection because it shows the band from a different point of view than normal people might see them. It's just as if we were part of them and could take part in those decisions!

Another black album that celebrates his birthday today :) On this day in 2009 Bon Jovi released their album 'The Circle'. As they said in several interviews it is more like the strong rock music they always wrote some years ago (this has to be understood in comparison with albums like 'Lost Highway' which is influenced by country music). It really is a good, strong, optimistic and lyrically special album! The most beautiful ballad is 'Superman tonight', while 'Bullet' Cleary stands out because of the story it tells :)
During the tour supporting this record, Jon hurt his left leg badly while being on stage, but he just continued all the shows as if nothing happened! Another example for the bands work ethic!

Today eight years ago Bon Jovi released their second Greatest Hits album with all their biggest and most successful songs like 'Prayer'; 'Always' or 'Have a nice day'. The really great things about this album are the four new songs: 'What do you got'; 'The more things change'; 'This is love, this is life' and 'No apologies'.
This album is definitely a must have for every collection!! Happy birthday!! :)

Today 'THINFS' turns two!! On this day in 2016 a real masterpiece was released! In one way it can be compared to 'Keep the Faith' because it is about the band, its hiytory and its structure. It's an invitation for the fans to come even closer to the bands inner circle and it's a symbol of their strengh and longevity. On the other hand, the musical style of the record can be compared to 'Have a nice day' because it is really strong and straight. But it's especially a really good album with great rock music!! In the beginning of 2018 two additional songs have been released and complete the album perfectly!

Today we celebrate the 26th birthday of another great Bon Jovi album: 'Keep the Faith'! When the band finished their 'New Jersey' tour in 1990, everybody thought that in two years the next album would be released, because they were the biggest rock band of all time in that period. What people did not expect was 'Blaze of Glory'. When Jon, and later also Richie, released their first solo records, all the music people and journalists were convinced that this was the end of Bon Jovi. Even if Jon told them from the beginning that it was not and that he wanted to go on with the band, they simply didn't believe him. There were also some fans who already startet to believe this, but as we know now, fortunately, Jon told us the truth and the bands big comeback was released in 1992 with 'Keep the Faith'!! Happy birthday :)

The best of Bon Jovi - today 'Crossroad' turns 24!! Richies first title idea was 'Elvis is dead, but we're not' which obviously didn't make it ;)
This album contains all the classics like 'Prayer', 'Wanted' or 'Runaway', but also two new songs. One of them is 'Always' which was originally written for a film. Jon read the script and decided to take the song back because the script was that bad. The other one is 'Someday I'll be saturday night' which always creates an extremly good atmosphere at shows. They had the idea when having some time off and rewrote it several times because they thought it was a good song but the lyrics didn't really fit yet.

On this day in 2002 Bon Jovi released their new album 'Bounce'. Actually, they wanted to start writing on september the 11th 2001, but when they heard about the terror attacs they changed their plans. As the band members were also affected and especially the area where they live; there are three songs on the album which are influenced by the terrible events. It's 'Undivided', 'Everyday' and the title track 'Bounce'.
Anyway, the other songs are typical Bon Jovi songs with the famous optimism, even though the sound of this album is much heavier than we know it from other records. It also contains a lot of ballads like 'All about loving you', 'Right side of wrong' or 'You had me from hello', as well as songs with a lot of social content and great lyrics like 'Hook me up' and 'Joey'.
Unfortunately, 'Bounce' is one of those underrated, often forgotten albums, but it is definitely another great chapter in the long history of the greatest band on earth!!!

From his place at the back of the stage he has a perfect view over the band and the crowd which somehow symbolises his role in the bands music: he is the basis for the songs because he produces the beat.

'When the world gets in my face I say 'Have a nice day'!' - today we celebrate the 13th birthday of this great album!!! The title song is one of the most ironic songs the band has ever written, but also one that really lifts you up when you're down because it's just a very good rock song. The album contains the first number one on the country charts for a rock band with the single 'Who says you can't go home' and is definitely a fan favourite. An important part is the cover photo. The smiley became a new symbol of the band and the fans love it that much that they got it tattooed on their bodies. Happy birthday 'Have a nice day'!! :)

Today is the 30th birthday of 'New Jersey', Bon Jovis 4th album released in 1988. When they had their breakthrough in 1986 they proved their ability to produce great music, but after the tour Jon felt they had to do it again. So, the band came together and Jon and Richie wrote more than 40 songs to do a double album. Unfortunately, the record company didn't want to realize this idea and it became another 'normal' album.
The tour was even bigger than the 'Slippery' - tour and nearly the end of the band. More interesting are the title ideas: 'Sons of beaches'; 'Sixty-Eight' or 'I'll owe you one', just like the idea behind the chosen title. At first sight you may think that the band is proud of their home state, but actually, it means the special attitude of the people in Jersey. Moreover, it's an invitation of the band for the fans to come closer and to learn more about them.
Another historical component of 'New Jersey' is that it was the first western rock album to be officially released in the Soviet Union.

Today 'Burning bridges' celebrates its third birthday!! :) It's an album which confused the fans a little bit because it has a very simple design - untypical for the band. The reason for this came short after the releasing: after over 30 years of loyalty the record label ended the common work, but the band still had to produce one album to fulfill the contract. So, they took some of the songs they still had from other writing sessions as well as some new ones and released 'Burning bridges'. If you didn't understand the situation until now, just read the lyrics for the title song!! ;)

Today it's already 32 years that Bon Jovi released their big breakthrough album 'Slippery when wet'! The first single 'You give love a bad name' was their first number one and the next 'Wanted dead or alive' is their 'national anthem' as Jon calls it. But the real fan favorite which is also known by every human being who has at least listened to a radio once in his life is 'Living' on a prayer'!
The album was recorded in 1986 in Vancouver and is number 33 of the best selling albums released between 1963 and 2015. The songs have mostly been written at Richie's home and funnily Jon first didn't want 'Prayer' to be on the record. Other ideas for its title were 'Guns 'n' roses' or 'Wanted dead or alive'.

'Blaze of Glory' - an album which was maybe the easiest one to write for Jon, as he told us in 1990. An album full of great songs about the never ending cowboy theme, but not just 'Wanted dead or alive 2, 3 or 4'. There are experimental songs like 'Justice in the barrel' and beautiful ones like 'Santa Fe', but as always also rocksongs like 'Never say die'.
When it was released some of the critics saw it as the beginning of the end and said that it was the start of Jons solo carreer. He always insisted that he didn't leave the band alone after all those years of touring, but because of the media even some fans weren't really sure if this was the truth...as we know now it was the truth and the band exists till today. Anyway, 'Blaze of Glory' was an important step for Jon and the rebirth of the band and moreover, it's simply great music! :) Happy birthday!

This day in 1959 one of the all time greatest guitarists was born. He played in several bands and already had his own manager when he came to Bon Jovi. He became an extremly important part of the band, but also managed to be successful with his own solo material. Then he left the band after 30 years which is still not really understood by a lot of fans. Anyway, Richie Sambora remains a big part of Bon Jovi and especially when they played together again on their rock hall induction everyone could see why.
Who knows, maybe they start playing together again soon? It would definitely be something special! But now we wish you a very happy birthday Richie!! :)

Guess what happened today in 1983? JBJ signed his first record deal!!! Yes, today in 1983, this was one of the first steps in the formation of the band. Jon already had a first hit single with 'Runaway', but no band. Actually, no record company wanted to sign him first, but when the radio stations in the US started to play the song and the people loved it, all of them came back to him! Today it's 35 years that it all started, because after this day, Jon started to find others with the same vision as he had and found David, Alec, Tico and Richie :) The rest is history or as Jon once wrote down 'a heart and a dagger, that says 'FOREVER''!! :)

Some people consider this the best album Bon Jovi ever did, others just like it as much as every record of the band. Today 'These days' celebrates its 23th birthday!!!! An album that is also the bands darkest one so far, not with any obvious reason, but it just fits like this. It's the only Bon Jovi record where you have to search a little longer to find their optimism. It's not like there is nothing of the typical stuff in the songs, but they're lyrically very deep and intense and contain a lot of important questions and topics worth thinking about a bit more!
Moreover, it's the first official record without Alec and an album that kicked Michael Jacksons 'History' from the number one spot :) Definitely a milestone in the bands history!

Destination Anywhere - Jon's second solo record released in 1997 on this day. An album which is really diffrent to the band albums, because Jon tried a lot of new things. The record contains songs about mixed themes and in various styles, but also very sad ones.
To promote the new music, Jon filmed a little movie - also called like the album - where he played the main role.
The most interesting song is 'August 7, 4:15' which he wrote about the daughter of Paul Korzilius who died at the age of 6 years because she was hit by a car.

Today a special album celebrates its 18th birthday!! An album that is mainly known because of its first single 'It's my life' which helped Bon Jovi to enlarge their fanbase to the younger generations and to stay at the top of rock music. This album is a masterpiece, especially because of the variety of songs! 'It's my life' is a typical strong and optimistic Bon Jovi anthem, while 'Just older' and 'Next 100 years' seem to be very personal and about Jon and the band itself. Of course, the album also contains a lot of beautiful ballads like 'Thank you for loving me' or 'Save the world'. The most interesting song though, is 'I got the girl' which Jon wrote for his daughter Stephanie and which the band already performed twice with her onstage.
