Interpretation - Bad Medicine

Another song that Jon would describe with the words 'meant to be fun'. The idea came from Richie who had these two words in his head and Jon and Desmond were immediately enthusiastic about the topic. Many fans love the idea, too and speak about Bon Jovi as their Bad Medicine which keeps them alive and optimistic.

The song can be found on the bands fourth studio album called 'New Jersey' which, by the way, describes more the typical attitude than the state as their home country. The album was the first rock album with 5 top 10 singles, 'Bad medicine' was one of them.

Lines like ' Your love is like bad medicine, bad medicine is what I need' connect the band directly to the fans and others like 'when you find your medicine you take what you can get, 'cause if there's something better baby, well, they haven't found it yet' perfectly defines what the band represents for the fans (even if they dind't write about this , but it just fits....)

The video is special because it consists of houdreds little video parts that have been filmed by fans while being on a special concert with the band. They also had professional camera men because the record company wasn't convinced about the idea, but finally they only used a few seconds of those parts...
